We are recruiting for a SHEQ Officer to join our Exertis team, who will be responsible for promoting a positive compliance culture throughout the business and ensure the highest levels of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality standards and performance are consistently achieved.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Review and audit company-wide SHEQ policies and procedures for alignment, compliance, legal, industry and statutory requirements
  • Develop a culture of collaborative working and continuous improvement to promote a positive approach towards health, safety and environment across the business
  • Work effectively with the Operations function to develop and implement a roadmap for the successful roll-out and achievement of ISO9001, ISO45001 and ISO14001 accreditation
  • Carry out regular risk assessments, investigations, incident reporting and compliance audits with SHEQ policies and procedures for each Exertis site
  • Coordinate areas where training/certification is required to meet standards outlined in company SHEQ management systems
  • Demonstrate a strong awareness of and commitment to Ethics and Compliance and the DCC Group Code of Conduct

Role Requirements

  • Previous experience in a SHEQ role, with multi-site experience desirable
  • Extensive knowledge, experience and qualification in BSI ISO9001, BSI14001 and BSI OHSAS 18001/45001 standards
  • Qualification in occupational health and safety, such as a Masters, NVQ, BSC or NEBOSH national diploma
  • Established experience in setting strategic direction for SHEQ related management systems and effective at influencing those at a senior level in their adoption and application
