What is a Global Process Owner (GPO)?

Global Process Owners (GPOs) are individuals who own an end-to-end process accountable for the building, standardising and maintaining processes throughout the business operating mode structure.

The responsibility of this team includes end to end strategic and transactional processes related to sales, commercial, purchasing, finance, operations, people, technology, data and performance management throughout the organisation.

This particular role is focused on our Portfolio area, which includes Commercial (Product Management), Purchasing, Pricing & Data functions.

The GPOs will work as a team, alongside the SAP Technical Team and the business teams to drive the following key areas of focus:

  • Ownership and protection of the processes
  • Continuous improvement, leveraging the power of SAP and other tools to drive process automation, ensuring standardisation of processes and improved effectiveness, efficiency and control across Exertis
  • Leading expansion of the SAP business coverage
  • Optimising end-to-end processes across all functional areas
  • Identification and resolution of outstanding process and system pain points/bottlenecks
  • Breaking down of any functional/organisational barriers to process improvements
  • Communication of and gaining buy in for continuous improvement initiatives

  • Optimising processes, by its nature, brings unexpected challenges therefore this role required a dynamic and flexible individual who is not fazed working under their own initiative
  • Systems savvy with great understanding of SAP processes
  • Experience in the functional area in which they represent - Commercial, Purchasing, Pricing, Data & Analytics
  • Highly organised - task-based/action-based/logical process-based approach to work
  • High attention to detail and will self-check work, being the expert in their area
  • Strong presentation skills - ability to present complex data cleanly and simply
