Exertis is the leading technology distributor and it’s an exciting time!  We are establishing our first global Data Warehouse for the Exertis Group, consolidating data from over 40 international sources, and creating an amazing analytical service for the wider business.

We now need help on this journey and are looking for an experienced Azure Data Engineer to help build Global Data Warehouse solutions utilising the latest Microsoft technologies.

 

The location for this role is flexible, with occasional visits to an Exertis office required.

 

Knowledge, Competencies & Experience

The successful candidate is likely to have.

  • In-depth knowledge of MS SQL Server on Azure and it’s underlying concepts and technologies
  • Proficiency in SQL 
  • Experience in the design, build, and maintain ADF data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into Data Warehouses.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources, including Databases, APIs and Flat files ensuring smooth data flow and efficient data processing.
  • Experience in monitor and optimize the performance of data pipelines and processes, identifying and resolving bottlenecks to ensure efficient data processing and retrieval.
  • Exposure to Azure Synapse Analytics, OneLake, Fabric and Power BI is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical skills and a proven ability to think creatively to solve problems.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • An open mindset and willingness to learn are key.

 

You will be working within a small but dynamic team so strong communication and team collaboration skills are essential. 

Our analysts and reporting teams use QlikView and Power BI as their primary means of accessing the data so experience here would be advantageous.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant Microsoft Azure Certifications or SQL Database Management
