Title: Blow Moulding Operator

Reports to: Rick Done

Based at: Langage Science Park, Plymouth

Job purpose:

To produce quality components for use in the manufacture of Vacsax finished products.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  1. Operation of:
    • Blow Moulding
    • BOY 22D and Batenberg injection moulding machines
    • Tube extractor
    • Canister drilling

 

  1. General safety and awareness:
    • Positions of emergency stops
    • Positions of power outlet and isolators and identification of moving parts, hot areas and no access areas in respect to safety including the use of PPE where identified/required

 

  1. Principles of machine operation, how and what it does.

 

  1. Completion of works orders.

 

  1. Ensuring machines and equipment run smoothly and produce products to quality requirements and the actions required where non-conformance occurs.

 

  1. Stopping and starting of machines during normal operations, end of order and end of week shut down.

 

  1. General housekeeping and end of shift clean up.

 

  1. Safe materials/product handling (comply to company policy).

 

Always ask for assistance when required, 2-person tote handling, making use of transporting equipment, safe use of Tawi raw material handling equipment, any manual mixing of materials to be undertaken using appropriate equipment / PPE.

 

  1. Maintain high level of timekeeping to ensure resources are used in an effective manner.

 

 

 

 

 

  1. To always follow quality, health/safety and equipment operating procedures and report any identified issues or concerns.

 

  1. To only undertake the process and procedures that you have been trained and/or authorised to undertake in accordance to the ACED training process.

 

Blow Moulding

 

  1. Regrind every 15 minutes.

 

  1. Checking the amount of regrind in regards to hopper adjustments on screen (if low or high).

 

  1. Continual checking of tail lengths and adjustment when required.

 

  1. Ensuring main day bin contains raw material and how to top up.

 

  1. Safe ascending / descending of ladders to hopper and clearing process if required.

 

  1. Hourly completion/recording of quality checks as well as continual in process visual checks and what to do if product is not to specification or if there are any concerns thus contributing to waste management.

 

  1.  Any other reasonable task requested by immediate management.
