Meet our Employees - Corey Morgan, Trainee Technician

How did it start Corey…

My time at Williams Medical Supplies started in the Warehouse area of the company working in Dispatch. I acquired the skill set of picking & packing and learned how we distribute medical goods to a high standard. Over 3 years of working within this area I feel I had become a valuable team member and had opportunities to help with projects & give my opinion on areas to improve in my work area.

I gained my forklift license through support from the business and I also moved into the Inventory team and was involved in rearranging the mezzanine floors to help provide improve pick-rate efficiency.

I gained my forklift license through support from the business and I also moved into the Inventory team and was involved in rearranging the mezzanine floors to help provide improve pick-rate efficiency.

I later moved to work within the Export team, where I gained greater insight as to how we deal with our biggest international customers, from picking the order to building working relationships with excellent people. This gave me the opportunity to connect with people throughout the business and I developed personally, meeting new contacts & exposing myself to a greater network within Williams.

How’s it going now Corey…

My involvement with a mixture of projects and roles in the Warehouse gave me the confidence to push myself for the role of first aid, health & safety and fire marshal. These roles put me onto courses giving a greater view to myself of the safety of not just the employees but the whole site as well.

Finally what does the future look like Corey….

After gaining skills from multiple aspects of the warehouse area over 3 years, I then decided I wanted to take a new career path within the workshop as a technician. I applied for the role and was successful.  I was made to feel very welcome by the new team and have started gaining the skill set required. I am looking forward to the opportunity to progress through a mature apprenticeship route and cannot wait to see what the future brings.
