1. Purpose
In TPS Healthcare we work together to deliver personal care at point of use in the healthcare supply chain. You will contribute to this by monitoring and controlling inventory integrity and ensuring that inventory levels are accurate and in line with financial requirements without affecting service. You will take shared responsibility for continuous improvement of our planning processes and stock integrity across a Balanced Agenda but with a consistent focus on service in line with agreed objectives.
2. Accountabilities
Ensuring effective coordination of all things inventory by:-
- Maintaining product codes for TPS and manage onboarding of new codes
- Leading, developing, owning, communicating and driving the delivery of the site inventory processes/strategies
- Deliver a robust cycle counting process in line with metrics and financial audit requirements
- Deliver inventory controls to assist in the efficient movement and management of fast, slow and non-moving items, ensuring stock placement and warehouse layout supports where possible a lean pick path across both warehouses
- Manage stock destruction processes in line with GDP and Pharma standards ensuring the correct levels of approvals have been gained and accurate records kept in line with the MHRA audits requirements
- Deliver effective reporting (to include stock value, stock accuracy, waste/write-offs, identification of high & low selling items) and recommend courses of action
- Report appropriate Key Inventory and Service level measures (including but not limited to stock levels, Age of Stock, Stock Days and tracking performance KPI’s for the Operations, CSD & Procurement Team’s)
- Works with internal stakeholders to assist with the investigation of processing defects and looks for ways to improve operational processes to be communicated through a weekly / monthly report
- Report warehouse capacity on a weekly basis and seek ways to maximise space availability for growth
- Conduct toolbox talks to support the development of people and processes
- Cover sickness and absence in cross functional roles when needed
- Manage allocated projects for the Operations team by supporting onboarding of new clients and inventory projects
- Manage and oversee a small team of warehouse operatives, ensuring inventory activities are carried out in compliance with GDP requirements
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency
- Support temperature-controlled storage and monitoring processes
- Assist the management team during internal and external audits
- Ensure all activities comply with Health & Safety, GDP and company’s SOP’s
- Review update and create work instructions as and when required for all inventory operations processes
3. Pre-requisites
To succeed in this role, it is expected that you will have
- High attention to detail with strong compliance mindset
- Strong understanding of inventory control and stock accuracy
- Good analytical and numeracy skills.
- Be able to work on own initiative and part of a team
- Must be PC literate and have experience in using WMS systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with CSD/Purchasing and operations teams
- Excellent communication skills, the ability to foresee and communicate issues to enable swift resolution.
