Due to continued growth, we are looking for a motivated Junior Buyer / Planner to join our team in a newly created position. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their procurement or supply chain career who is looking to build their experience within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
As this is a new role within the team, you will have the opportunity to shape how the position develops while gaining exposure to both purchasing and production planning activities that directly impact operational performance and customer satisfaction.
Following an initial induction and training period, hybrid working may be considered, although candidates will be expected to work full-time in the office initially.
This role would suit someone with 1–2 years’ experience in purchasing, planning, or supply chain, who understands the fundamentals but is eager to continue learning and progressing within a supportive team.
The Role
In this position, you will support the efficient flow of materials and finished goods across the business, helping to ensure production runs smoothly while maintaining strong supplier relationships and effective inventory management.
You will play a key role in balancing supply and demand, supporting procurement strategies, and contributing to ongoing improvements within the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the procurement of materials and goods, ensuring purchasing decisions align with inventory requirements
• Support demand forecasting and planning activities to maintain optimal stock levels and ensure production schedules are met
• Work closely with suppliers to ensure contract commitments are delivered, including pricing agreements, delivery schedules, and quality expectations
• Conduct cost and supplier performance analysis, identifying opportunities to improve supply chain efficiency and reduce costs
• Collaborate with warehouse, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure materials meet required specifications and are available when needed
• Purchase finished goods from external suppliers in line with MRP requirements and customer delivery deadlines
• Maintain accurate purchasing and planning data within ERP systems
• Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements
Skills & Experience
• Around 1–2 years’ experience in a procurement, planning, or supply chain role
• Experience working with ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Advanced excel level experience is essential)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Professional procurement or supply chain certification would be advantageous but not essential
