Job Purpose

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing a bulk storage & cylinder distribution facility. Focused on safety and compliance, you will effectively manage all aspects relating to people, assets, processes and performance associated with the site

 

Accountabilites

  • Managing safety in accordance with the Safety Management System to meet compliance and proactively drive a positive safety culture
  • Responsible for leading and motivating a team to deliver service excellence, in line with customer requirements and the business strategy
  • Effectively managing the site in accordance with business and legislative requirements
  • Robustly managing all aspects of Driver and Vehicle compliance, ensuring adherence with vehicle operating standards and compliance to Driver’s hours and Working Time Directive regulations
  • Managing accordance with company processes and procedures relating to sales, stocks, financial controls within the operating system (CODAS)
  • Ensuring all practices adhere to Flogas Operating Procedures and Works Instructions
  • Maintaining the use, inspection, and maintenance of safety critical equipment (PSPI’s)
  • Professional approach to people management to drive effective team working and positive engagement
  • Managing site costs within budgeted levels and stocks in line with customer demands
  • Responsible for ensuring that all colleagues receive regular 121’s and development in line with their role and aspirations and our performance management process
  • Maintaining control of business assets in alignment with expectations and standards
  • Retaining a positive ‘can do’ attitude, problem solving and influencing the factors to facilitate excellent customer service

Role Holder Requirements 

 

Essential

  • Visible and credible leader
  • Knowledge of working to Health & Safety and Employment law practice
  • Proven experience of effective performance management and financial controls processes/systems (P&L, Budgets, KPI’s, SLA’s, PSPI’s)
  • Computer literate, including competence in Outlook, Word & Excel
  • Able to schedule multiple tasks effectively
  • Able to demonstrate numeracy and literacy skills
  • Able to demonstrate effective communication with customers and colleagues at all levels
  • Able to show effective management of people and problems
  • Professional and positive, conducts themselves with integrity and honesty at all times
  • Prepared to work flexibly to accommodate seasonal influences
  • Full car driving licence holder

 

Desirable

  • CPC National or International holder
  • Knowledge of Bulk Tanker operations
  • Experience of CODAS or similar operating systems
  • Knowledge of LPG or other high hazard industry
