Job Purpose

In support of the significant growth of the business and future opportunities created through the Energy Transition, Flogas Britain are seeking a high calibre Programme Manager to drive and progress a broad agenda of strategic development and business programmes.

The role of Programme Manager is a new role in the business and the successful candidate will have proven experience in driving complex projects and initiatives forward, having the ability to translate strategy to execution, and be able to influence and manage stakeholders with conflicting priorities.  The candidate will have the ability to communicate at all levels and be able to understand and optimise these relationships to the business’ advantage.  

The role will report into the Chief Operating Officer and will develop and maintain key working relationships across the Senior Leadership Team, offering a high level of visibility and future succession opportunities for the right candidate.

The candidate will drive innovative thinking to assist the business in maximising their use of processes, systems, and people to accomplish business benefit.  They will be responsible for driving collaboration and cultural change across the businesses through the delivery of strategic initiatives.

The role will principally be located in Flogas’ head office in Syston, Leicester, but will benefit from flexible working and an amount of travel around the UK depending on the nature of the project portfolio.
 

Accountabilities

The role by its nature is varied and wide-ranging, with projects spanning many areas of the business.  It would be anticipated to cover as a minimum:

•    Responsible for the delivery of the allocated strategic projects to time, cost and quality.
•    Ensure correct governance standards and controls are applied and adhered to throughout the lifecycle of the projects.
•    Provide for seamless operational handover to business as usual.
•    Deliver innovative and efficient business solutions built on best practice.
•    Ensure that the objectives of the projects are aligned with the business agenda and budget.
•    Work in conjunction with the other functional heads and the wider business to ensure alignment.
•    To partner with the business to execute on the cultural / people transformation associated with allocated projects whilst ensuring alignment with the strategy.
•    Be able to undertake internal improvement projects to enhance profitability and/or returns and manage or support those projects as appropriate.

Job Holder Requirements

Knowledge and experience
•    Minimum of 5 years business programme management experience.
•    Ability to minimise resistance to change; influence and collaborate to drive accountability to deliver.
•    Proven ability to deliver projects and business solutions.
•    Change agility, with the ability to prioritise business change to enhance delivery, responsiveness, and alignment to business needs and strategy.
•    Goal orientated with a strong delivery/milestone focus.
•    Experienced in full lifecycle project management.
•    Strong commercial acumen.
•    Strong communication skills at all levels both written and verbal.
•    Excellent planning skills (MS Project or similar).
•    Proven ability to influence and manage stakeholders.
•    Experience of operating at a senior level in a business of scale.
•    Strong personal presence and leadership.
•    Promotes a culture of continuous improvement.
•    Understanding of multi-site distribution businesses will be advantageous.
•    Experience or understanding of an energy or engineering environment would be advantageous.

Qualifications
•    An appropriate project management qualification e.g. Prince 2, APM, PMI.
