Job Purpose

As the HSEQ Project Manager, you will be helping to ensure that Flogas and our subsidiary companies are implementing our occupational health, safety & environmental improvement processes and adopting our SAFETY F1RST Zero Harm approach and are operating in accordance with the law and our environmental guidelines and sustainability targets.

Your role will involve examining our business activities to determine where improvements can be made supporting continuous improvement in our occupational health, safety and environmental performance and culture.

Your wide remit means you will work across the whole business helping to:

•    develop and support the ongoing development of the SAFETY F1RST Zero Harm Safety Culture improvement programme
•    develop and coordinate delivery of initiatives addressing our key environmental impacts
•    implement and monitor our environmental strategies promoting sustainable operations and growth
•    administer our insurance claim portfolio & identify process improvements
•    develop occupational health, safety environment continuous improvement projects
•    submit articles and information for internal and external communication programmes
•    develop and maintain working relationships across teams in the wider business, ensuring best practice, continuous improvement and wider initiatives are shared.



As the HSEQ Project Manager, you will support the Head of Occupational Health & Safety, Security & Environment to:

•    develop and deploy our SAFETY F1RST Zero Harm programme
•    analyse, interpret, and understand data and trends from audits, incidents, events, observation trends, and inspection reports, etc. to identify opportunities for improving safety and environmental performance develop and deploy environmental and wider sustainability action plans and coordinate their implementation including the company’s Environmental Management System, relevant training and documentation addressing our environmental impacts including use of resources, pollution control, waste management & recycling, and renewable energy
•    manage aspects of the company’s legal register for compliance assessment for health, safety, and environmental legislation
•    report our environmental performance to internal and external stakeholders and regulatory bodies
•    design and deploy internal and external communication which promotes and raises awareness of health, safety and environmental matters including toolbox talks prepare management information and reports, as necessary
•    support the deployment of new digital capabilities, including new Cority modules
•    support the safety leads to ensure that OHSSE audit findings and non-conformances for the new energy businesses are completed in a timely and effective manner
•    attend internal and external meetings and ensure actions arising from such meetings are completed
•    identify and appraise new health, safety, and environmental products/solutions supporting their transfer into “business as usual,” 
•    managing the non-motor insurance claim portfolio & identify process improvements
•    ensure that our HCDG and site security arrangements are maintained and regularly reviewed and remain compliant with DfT guidance. Manage liaison with the DfT and the inspection programme and engage with all stakeholders as needed to maintain compliance.


Job Holder Requirements

Desirable Experience / Knowledge

•    Formal qualification in an occupational health and safety discipline, e.g. NEBOSH, or be working towards, and 
•    Formal qualification in Environmental Management, e.g. IEMA, or be working towards or prepared to work towards, and 
•    Over 5 years of applicable work experience in a health and safety or environmental role in a high hazard multi-site business
