How you’ll power our business as a Process Safety Engineer 

 

As a Process Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for implementation and continual improvement of our process safety management systems. This position coordinates Process Safety Management (PSM) and Property Protection (PP) activities. 

 
Here at Flogas, we may have a fossil fuels background, but we’re working towards delivering 100% renewable energy to our customers by 2040. We’re already supporting our customers to reduce their carbon emissions, by helping them make the switch from oil to gas. We’re also developing our offering for technologies such as heat pumps and solar panels, beginning to help our customers reduce their energy consumption and evolving new bio-fuels and renewable gases. Here’s what you’ll be doing 

 

  • Providing tools & training to drive a positive change in process safety culture in Flogas 

  • Providing guidance, coaching and advice to operational leads  

  • Driving accountability for process safety performance in all parts of the operation 

  • Providing support and expertise to line management on process safety incident investigation and reporting 

  • Working in partnership with operational leads & managers to minimise process safety risks 

  • Facilitating / conducting process safety risk assessment and advising and supporting line managers in the reduction of risk 

 

 

What we’ll need from you 

 

  • Chemical or Mechanical Engineering degree or in a similar technical field, background or qualification 

  • Experience in Chemical or Petrochemical industry in a plant environment or from working for an engineering / process safety specialist consultancy 

  • GCSE Maths & English 

  • Persuasive and personable communication skills with all levels of the organisation 

  • Self-motivated and good organisational skills to be enable planning, execution and implementation in a timely manner in a highly autonomous role 

  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills to achieve results through diverse cross-functional teams
