Working within the Digital function, for the Head of User Experience, to drive user experience, testing and research within Exertis to deliver greater growth and profitability within this already successful business.


You’ll play a key role in crafting best-in-class digital user experiences, from integrated campaigns rooted in cultural moments, to digital products within the e-commerce space. You will be working with some of the biggest brands like Microsoft, Xbox, Samsung, Netgear, Arlo and more.

Simply put - You will be accountable and responsible for digital product design and user testing across our B2B and D2C digital products.


Role Description

Product Design (50% of the role)

  • Determine information architecture and create sitemaps
  • Create wireframes and interactive prototypes
  • Create user stories, personas, and storyboards
  • Design review with stakeholders and developer


User research (40% of the role)

  • Create a user study plan supporting Hybris and D2C
  • Plan and conduct user research and competitor analysis
  • Interpret data and qualitative feedback
  • Complete in person customer visits and share / create plans with head of UX and product owners to address UX pain points
  • Setup monthly / quarterly customer forum
  • Customer feature testing before dev for new features e.g. predictive search
  • Persona creation and management

UX best practice across the business (5% of the role)

  • Develop and be responsible for the adoption of our design system, establishing a shared design language among creative, product and engineering teams to drive quality, build efficiency and ensure a cohesive experience
  • Create and drive user experience best practices and vision for the business across the D2C and Hybris
  • Ensure that all colleagues across the business and function have an understanding of UX design practices
  • Proactively establish methods and tools to accelerate user feedback and consistently embed that insight into our business and product build and design process. by using evidence-led design processes and influence product direction through research and data analytics


Managing (5% of the role)

  • Manage, mentor and support more junior members of the UX design team
  • Manage and work with the front-end developer that focuses on outcomes and delivers with velocity and quality end-product


Essential Requirements

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a user interface design, information architecture, interaction design, and other related UX disciplines
  • Portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating user-centred design solutions particularly demonstrating approaches you have taken
  • Previous experience creating wireframes, user flows, and other UX deliverables to communicate design requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders
  • Able to communicate requirements clearly and use these to rationalise design decisions
  • Experienced in designing for responsive layouts
  • Knowledge of design tools like Hotjar analytics, Adobe XD, Figma and Axure
  • Good commercial focus to generate returns, growth and ‘eat what you kill’ culture
  • Run workshops and present deliverables to senior stakeholders
  • Knowledge of W3C Accessibility Standards



  • Degree in design, technology, psychology, human factors or Human Computer Interaction (HCI).
  • Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, SASS, JavaScript and Bootstrap frameworks
