We have a fantastic opportunity to join our office supplies sales team as a Junior Category Manager. Your primary focus is to develop and execute a range of category plans within the local market growing the category in a proactive and dynamic way. You will drive local buying efficiencies, rebates, and cost pricing, whilst working with internal and external stakeholders to deliver agreed targets. This role offer a great opportunity to grow and develop within an established company. We offer hybrid working with a minimum of 50% of your time to be spent in our office based at Lowfields Business Park in Elland. 


Your Day-to-Day as a Junior Category Manager
•    Analyse daily sales, margin, and inventory level of the category and resolve any issues found.
•    Respond to customer requests.
•    Work with the purchasing Team to ensure optimum stock levels at all times.
•    Analyse discontinued stock and obsolete SKUs, propose an action plan for problematic SKUs.
•    Work with the Commercial Manager to develop and execute category growth plans, identifying new opportunities to grow the Office Products business.
•    Effectively negotiate promotions and campaigns, forecasting the volumes and making the bridge between departments
•    Conduct regular vendor reviews, to include pricing and range reviews, ensuring that all documentation is complete and accurate.
•    Manage all financial KPIs.
•    Ensure delivery of local operational tasks to include the maintenance of all data required by the business on the company systems and interactions with the other departments within Exertis. 
•    Continuous negotiation of Price & Stock protection.
•    Monitor and react to the changes and developments in the local market for your categories, using supplier and customer information and interactions.
•    Communicate local issues/requirements clearly to the wider business including the other divisions of Exertis.
•    Conduct customer visits as required (the role holder will be required to travel throughout the UK on occasion).
•    Demonstrate a strong awareness of and commitment to Ethics and Compliance and the DCC Group Code of Conduct.


Role Requirements
•    Proven successful track record in a similar role, ideally in Office Products.  
•    The ability to act with (external & internal) customers in mind, getting first-hand customer information and using it for improvements to products and services.
•     Awareness of how strategies and tactics work in the marketplace and drive commercial performance.
•    Working style of being highly action orientated and full of energy for the things he/she sees as challenging, making decisions and acting to tight timelines where appropriate.
•    The role holder will need to demonstrate a proven ability to learn quickly to overcome new challenges; be open to change and experiment to find workable solutions; also quickly grasp the essence and the underlying structure of any issue that crops up.
•    Intermediate level Excel skills, with the ability to understand data, draw accurate conclusions and communicate key messages succinctly.
