AV Business Development Manager - B2B

A predominately field based role responsible for the development of AV product sales within the B2B space at Exertis. Focussing on a set of key accounts the BDM will target net new business and grow profitable revenue which will have a major impact on the success of the Pro AV business unit. Working closely with Account Directors and Account Managers the BDM will develop a Pro AV pitch to our B2B customers, generate a project pipeline and report to ensure there is clear visibility of activity and success. The BDM will build strong relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally, levering vendor channel teams and existing relationships to grow Exertis wallet share.  


Key responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for representing the Pro AV service and product offering in a defined account base, developing relationships with decision makers
  • Become a ‘go to’ knowledge base for account managers to help them effectively respond to AV enquiries, becoming an internal educator and Pro AV champion
  • Presenting and pitching the AV opportunity, creating tailored account plans for your Top 10
  • Acting as a key facilitator for our customers to ensure they understand and can access our AV portfolio, connecting them to specialists and product managers
  • Securing bids, closing quotes and vendor liaison
  • Forecasting and pipeline management so the commercial team can manage stock effectively
  • Hitting and surpassing agreed targets for AV sales within the account base
  • Attend and present at quarterly business reviews
  • Provide visit reports and attend weekly calls, monthly sales meetings
  • Use internal systems to track and report on performance
  • Demonstrate a strong awareness of and commitment to Ethics and Compliance and the DCC Code of Conduct


Skills & Experience

  • Ability to deliver against GP, turnover and margin targets
  • Communication skills – verbal, written, face to face
  • IT skills need to include Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Ability to plan and prioritise work
  • Travel across Exertis sites and customer locations
  • Attendance at trade shows
  • Knowledge of the AV market, and the Exertis Pro AV offering
  • Ability to interface at senior levels to maximise opportunities
  • Can develop long term business relationships leading to sustained profitable business
  • Previous customer facing experience is desirable
  • Knowledge of Exertis systems
  • Willingness to learn and a positive, can-do attitude
  • Understanding of the competition and opportunity
  • Existing contacts within the target customer base
  • Understand how best to utilise different elements of Exertis to the advantage of your customer, creating new and repeatable opportunities
  • Always represent Exertis in a professional manner
