Job Title:                                             Demand Planning Manager

Purpose of the Job:

 

Managing the demand planners and all demand planning related projects, to co-ordinate department activities and drive improvements to support department and business KPI’s.

 

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

 

Working in collaboration with Commercial to improve on time in full for the customer, achieving the sales plan and reducing the risk of excessive and aged stock.

Accountable for all purchasing into the warehouse. Management of the purchasing system and the backorder process. To effectively maintain an ordering pattern that provides sufficient stock levels for a variable demand product portfolio and at the same time meet targets for product availability and stock holding value. Responsible for Supplier deliveries ensuring parts arrive on time and in full while monitoring any arrears.

Ensuring all stock is in the right place to maximise all channel sales and customer on time in full metric

 

Key Duties

 

•             Manage Demand Planning Team including; setting of annual objectives, completion of regular 121’s and formal appraisals as required

•             Record and report department KPI’s

•             Produce monthly commentary and business Levers

•             To co-ordinate department activities to provide best possible availability and service to our c        ustomers.

•             Drive improvements and projects through the team to achieve / exceed department and business KPI’s

•             Senior point of contact for internal customers

•             To ensure high level of service to internal customers

•             Production of stock forecast and coordinating team to achieve monthly stock targets

•             Communication and loading of supplemental demand forecasts

•             Maintain > 30 days stock value

•             Stock Management continually reviewed and analysed. Including active stocks, range updates, aged stocks and New/promo lines.

•             Communication with commercial in weekly meetings, sharing reports to meet objectives and working collaboratively.

•             Resolution of escalated supplier issues (with Buyers and suppliers)

•             Work closely with Operations to ensure stock plans are converted into plans and actions within the warehouse to meet agreed stock levels and timescales

•             Overall management of “company” parameters that sit above Category rules

•             Contact with Buyer and suppliers to discuss/ resolve supply related issues. Eg poor delivery performance

•             Ongoing development of appropriate reports for Supply Chain related KPI’s

•             Manage workload between self and Demand Planners

•             Representation of the Demand planning function in all projects as and when required

 

Technical Skills/Qualifications

 

Good knowledge of the principles of Supply Chain Management and Demand Planning

Skilled influencer, able to work cross functionally especially with Commercial, Sales, Warehouse and Suppliers

Good knowledge of Microsoft systems and processes.

Understanding the relationship between Demand Planning and the impact on warehouse efficiency

5 years’ experience of Demand Planning Management and Supply Chain in a fast-paced retail environment
