Are you a qualified or part-qualified accountant or tax professional looking to develop your expertise and take the next step in your tax career?

Certas Energy is looking for a Tax Accountant to join our growing Tax team.

Reporting directly to the Head of Tax, you’ll gain broad exposure to indirect taxes, fuel duties, corporation tax support, compliance, risk management and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit VAT and other tax returns accurately and on time.

• Support compliance across fuel duty, RDCO, Plastic Packaging Tax and Construction Industry Scheme returns.

• Analyse data to strengthen tax controls, reporting and processes.

• Identify compliance risks and opportunities for improvement.

• Provide practical tax guidance and support to colleagues across the business.

• Contribute to projects that improve efficiency, accuracy and governance.

Skills and Experience

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant or tax professional.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

• Intermediate Excel skills and excellent attention to detail.

• Ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively.

• Experience in indirect taxes, fuel duties, corporation tax or compliance improvement would be an advantage.
