Health and safety is paramount to our business ethos – it is fundamental to good business performance, and integral to long-term business success.

How you’ll power our business as a Regional HSE Business Partner

As a Regional HSE Business Partner, you will play a critical role in supporting the safe and compliant delivery of projects, engineering services, construction activities and operational works across an assigned regional portfolio. Working closely with operational teams, contractors, customers and key stakeholders, you will help ensure Health, Safety and Environmental standards are effectively implemented and maintained across multiple sites and workstreams.

Acting as a trusted advisor and visible presence within the business, you will provide practical guidance, assurance and governance support while helping to embed a positive safety culture across the organisation. This is a highly operational role, with a significant proportion of time spent carrying out site visits, inspections, audits, coaching and stakeholder engagement activities across your region.

You will be part of a centralised HSE function providing strategic leadership, regional support and operational assurance across our Solar & Construction and Energy Solutions & Engineering portfolios. Working as part of a collaborative national HSE team, you will support the continual improvement of HSE performance and help ensure safe and successful project delivery across the UK.

What you’ll be doing

  • Act as the primary HSE contact for operational teams within your assigned region.
  • Support implementation of HSE strategy, objectives and business improvement initiatives.
  • Provide practical and proportionate HSE advice to managers, supervisors, engineers, project teams and contractors.
  • Conduct planned and unannounced site inspections, audits and behavioural observations.
  • Verify compliance with company procedures, legal requirements, customer standards and safe systems of work.
  • Review risk assessments, RAMS, permit systems and operational controls to ensure effective risk management.
  • Support the mobilisation of new projects, contracts and operational activities.
  • Lead or support investigations into incidents, near misses, environmental events and unsafe conditions.
  • Carry out root cause analysis and drive effective corrective and preventative actions.
  • Support compliance with reporting requirements, including RIDDOR obligations where applicable.
  • Support implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of the Integrated Management System.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.
  • Conduct internal audits and support external certification, customer and regulatory audits.
  • Monitor HSE performance data, identify trends and support improvement initiatives.
  • Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, safety briefings and awareness sessions.
  • Promote workforce engagement and encourage proactive reporting of hazards, concerns and improvement opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with operational teams, contractors and stakeholders to help embed a positive safety culture

What we’ll need from you

  • Experience in a Health, Safety and Environmental role within construction, engineering, energy, infrastructure, utilities or industrial environments.
  • A practical understanding of site-based risk management and safe systems of work.
  • Experience conducting inspections, audits and incident investigations.
  • Experience supporting multiple projects, contracts or operational locations.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong reporting, analytical and organisational skills.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
