Job Title: Banking Manager

Principle Objectives of Role

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance Operations you will be responsible for the effective management of bank reconciliations and accounting, bank account management and reporting, and fuel card reconciliations across the Certas Energy Retail Europe.

Key Areas of Accountability

Bank Reconciliations & Accounting

  • Manage the banking team to ensure the daily reconciliation of bank accounts to SAP.
  • Manage the daily clearing of all credit card/bank card transactions between the bank and SAP.
  • Oversee and monitor all bank clearing accounts, supporting the team in identifying issues and ensuring their timely resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with all banking controls across the team.

Bank Account Management & Reporting

  • Manage the daily monitoring of the bank accounts to ensure funds are in place to meet business requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain periodic cashflow forecasts.
  • Manage banking access for existing and new employees.
  • Ensure all banking frameworks are reviewed, updated and approved as per DCC guidelines.
  • Review and approval of daily payments.
  • EOD (End of Day) missing batch reporting, reconciling Qlik to SAP, follow-up on issues and resolution.
  • Responsible for all month end reporting requirements for all countries, including bank reconciliations, DCC compliance requirements, clearing etc.

 

Fuel Card reconciliations

  • Verification of fuel card credits from our main supplier.
  • Ensuring prompt clearing of all key reconciliation accounts relating to fuel card transactions.
  • Working with our customers to validate and ensure accurate re-imbursement of non-fuel shop sale transactions.

 

People Management

  • Develop a high performing team to support the existing business units and the continued growth of the organisation.
  • Lead and manage the team, ensuring clear objectives are set and that succession planning, training and development plan are in place to support performance and progression.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback to support individual and team effectiveness.
  • Ensure effective cross training is in place across the team.
  • Promote continuous improvement within the team, identifying opportunities to enhance processes and efficiency.
  • Manage employee queries and requests, including annual leave planning and arranging appropriate cover.
  • Support staff in navigating organisational change.
  • Ensure all people management activities are carried out in line with company policies.

 

General

  • Support the Head of Finance Operations / Finance Director on ad hoc projects as and when required.
  • Promote continuous improvement within the team, identifying opportunities to enhance processes and efficiency.
  • Ensure consistent banking approach across all regions.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration with the team and with key stakeholders across the business.

 

   Qualifications / Experience

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years’ experience in a senior role in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
  • Qualified accountant with relevant industry experience preferred.

Experience

  • Strong people management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage and work as part of a team.
  • Experience of SAP an advantage.
  • Proficient with Microsoft products, with expertise in Excel.

Other Requirements
