How you’ll power our business as a Kitchen Assistant 

As a Kitchen Assistant within our Truckstops business, you'll play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operation of our kitchen outlet, delivering excellent customer service while maintaining high standards of food preparation, cleanliness, and food safety. You'll help create a positive and welcoming experience for customers through efficient service, quality food preparation, and a safe, organised working environment.

What you’ll be doing 

  • Preparing and serving food in line with brand standards. 

  • Delivering excellent customer service and creating a positive customer experience. 

  • Supporting food preparation activities and maintaining cleanliness throughout the kitchen area. 

  • Maintaining food hygiene standards and ensuring HACCP compliance. 

  • Completing daily and scheduled cleaning tasks. 

  • Following company policies relating to health & safety, food safety, cash handling, and stock control. 

  • Supporting stock management processes, receiving deliveries, and reporting shortages where required. 

  • Contributing to site sales targets and overall business performance. 

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues as part of the wider retail team. 

 

What we’ll need from you 

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. 

  • A positive, customer-focused attitude with excellent teamwork skills. 

  • Ideally, previous experience within a retail, hospitality, catering, or food service environment. 

  • A willingness to learn and develop new skills. 

  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and customer service.
